Health Insurance Marketplace Webinar

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Kansas City Regional Office invites you to join us for a webinar session on the Health Insurance Marketplace.  The Health Insurance Marketplace offers individuals a new way to find coverage that fits their budget and meets their needs.  Whether a person is uninsured or would just like to explore insurance options, the Marketplace will help find coverage that’s right for them.

CMS recognizes the important role your organization has in educating and assisting both the uninsured and under insured in your community.  Your ability to share information about the Marketplace can provide individuals and families with opportunities to gain access to affordable coverage.  While coverage in the Marketplace begins January 1, 2014, consumers still have the opportunity to enroll in a plan during the initial enrollment period until March 31.

In order to insure you have the most up to date information and resources available, and in order to accommodate the different education and informational needs of organizations such as yours, we are offering two different webinar sessions: Marketplace 101 and Marketplace Updates.

The Marketplace 101 webinar will cover the following:

  • Who is eligible to buy in the Marketplace
  • What types of plans are available in the Marketplace
  • Premium Tax Credits which reduce the monthly premium amount
  • Cost Sharing Reductions which reduce out of pocket costs
  • How to apply for insurance in the Marketplace

The Marketplace Updates webinar will cover the following:

  • Marketplace program updates
  • Resources available to assistors
  • Education and outreach strategies
  • Question and Answer session with CMS and other Federal Partners

Each session will cover the same information and registration is required.  Please click on the date you wish to attend to register.
